SUFFERING

Pastor Knute Larson speaking to the Morningstar Ski team on January 29, 2023, the morning of Jason's accident.

"Pastor Knute Larson is the retired long-time pastor of The Chapel in Akron, and he was among the leaders who started this annual ski trip nearly thirty years ago, focusing on the goals of Bible study and
camaraderie. Pastor Larson is now in his eighties, and he still skis. In fact, he called Jason’s accident 'one of the most devastating events I have ever been through.'"

"In an article in our city’s newspaper, Pastor Larson spoke about walking closely alongside Jason. Pastor Larson said Jason could serve as an example to others on how to cope with suffering. He said, 'He has trusted the sovereignty of God, and he has trusted that God doesn’t do mean things to people. Everybody asks, why? If you think you will get an easy answer, you will get discouraged. God works in hard things to make us all stronger.'"
